Our priority is providing excellent dental care for the people of Maesteg and the surrounding areas.

We know that a dental visit can be a worry for some - we pride ourselves on providing a calm and welcoming environment for all.

Our focus is to ensure that your dental experience is a positive one.

Visiting the Dentist can sometimes cause anxiety - but rest assured, it doesn't have to be that way!

Whether you are coming to see us for a check-up or for more lengthy or complex dental treatment, we are committed to helping you get the most out of your visit to us, and making you feel at ease.

All of our Dental Surgeons hold full General Dental Council Registration.

Our Dental Nurses are fully qualified or are actively training towards their Certificate of Dental Nursing Qualification.

We value progress, and all of our staff are committed to a longitudinal scheme of Continued Professional Development. This means we keep abreast of all new developments in Dentistry and take regular courses to update our knowledge. We think this is important to make sure we provide you with the best care possible.

Dr Robert P C Coles BDS HONS (Wales)

Dental Surgeon

Rob has worked in general practice in the South Wales area since graduating from Cardiff Dental School in 2006. He took over as Principal Dental Surgeon at Talbot Street Dental Surgery in 2014. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is particiularly experienced with providing treatment to phobic patients.

Rob enjoys being outdoors in all weathers and is a keen sportsman. Walking his dogs along the local coastline is where he'll be on his days off!

Dr Jagroop Sandhu BDS

Dental Surgeon

Jagroop graduated from the University of Bristol in 2017. She has worked in General Dental Practice in Nottingham and South Wales.

She joined the team as an Associate Dental Surgeon at Talbot Street Dental Surgery in 2021.

Jagroop has a keen interest in Invisalign®

treatments and will soon be offering this treatment at Talbot Street Dental, Maesteg.

Agnieszka Burnell

Dental Hygienist

Agnieszka joined the team as a Dental Hygienist at Talbot Street Dental Surgery in 2021.

Agnes is particularly fond of providing a dazzling clean using our 'Airflow' polishing system.

She provides dental hygiene services to pracices in South and West Wales, and takes great pride in educating patients on all matters oral hygiene!

Dr Rachel Coles BDS HONS (Wales)

PgCert (Oral Surgery)

Dental Surgeon

Rachel graduated with First Class Honours in Dental Surgery from Cardiff Dental School in 2006. She is a member of the College of General Dentistry (CGDent).

Rachel has developed her keen interest in Oral Surgery by obtaining a postgraduate certificate in Oral Surgery at Peninsula Dental School, University of Plymouth. She performs the majority of minor oral surgery procedures at the practice and enjoys providing aesthetic restorative work.

She holds a seat on the Bro Taf and Morgannwg Local Dental Committees.

Dr Paul Wilson BDS MJDF (RCS Eng)

Dental Surgeon

Paul graduated from the University of Bristol in 2010, and has previously worked at a General Dental Practice in Bath before moving to Wales in 2017.

Paul is an Associate Dental Surgeon at Talbot Street Dental Surgery, and plays a key role in training Dental Nurses. He is also a Clinical Lecturer at Cardiff University Dental School, where he teaches Clinical Dentistry to undergraduates.

Paul is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England at postgraduate level.

Samantha Brennan

Dental Therapist & Hygienist

Sam obtained her Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at the University of Sheffield in 2016, and has worked a Talbot Street Dental Surgery since 2022.
